PARIS

The world of culture was demonstrated against the government's cultural policy and the decrease of subsidies, Friday, during a day of national mobilization that has focused on Paris.

More than a thousand demonstrators (700 according to the police) have gathered in the afternoon instead of the Royal Palace, with the motto "artists, endangered."

They wore placards containing "Sarkozy, permanent entertainment", "Albanel, GM of Culture" and "Culture and colourful culture Bigard not."

In Marseille, some 400 people demonstrated outside the prefecture region.

A Orleans, 150 people gathered outside the center of Dramatic Art, before laying a wreath in front of the Directorate for Cultural Affairs (Drac). In Toulouse, there were one hundred professionals in the cultural front Prefecture region.

In Britain, the cultural structures were called upon to send a letter to regional prefects and Ille-et-Vilaine, Finistčre, Morbihan, Cotes d'Armor and the Drac, to denounce "the disastrous consequences of reductions credits ranging from 5 to 100%.
